Joseph Smith taught that Jesus would come to Earth and give salvation to everyone except those who committed the unpardonable sin (1). We know, therefore, that we are saved; yet as Mormons, we have also an additional hope – that of exaltation. However, the concept of exaltation is dynamic in our history. I submit that popular culture bends both what exaltation is and who receives it beyond Joseph’s teachings. (more…)
